The Overland Safari
Northern Namibia by road, with time for the valleys, settlements and overnight stops between the better-known places. A journey for travellers who enjoy seeing how a landscape changes along the way.
The road sets the pace
Plan around daylight arrivals and the places you want to stay, rather than the furthest point you can reach. Gravel, stops and local conditions all affect a day. Several nights in Damaraland or the north can be more rewarding than another long transfer.
A sensible northern route
We begin with a workable Namibia itinerary and choose a turning point that suits the time available. If Angola interests you, we assess it as a separate extension, with its own transport, guiding, access and border arrangements. It is not an automatic addition to this outline.

Tell us how you feel about rough roads, simple accommodation and changes of plan. We can then talk honestly about the route, the support it needs and where a more comfortable stop would be welcome.
A welcome afternoon at Palmwag
After several active days, Olivia recorded an afternoon of reading and resting by the pool at Palmwag. Further north, the road from Palmwag to Epupa filled much of a day, including stops. Those two entries are a good reminder to plan for both the road and the rest.
